Our story
At the Taksiparoni head office, the day had been eagerly anticipated: on 1 July 2018, the powers that be released Finland’s taxi trade from the regulation that had restricted it for decades. A number of business ideas that had been slowly maturing could finally be put into practice. We strongly believed that new premium cars, skilled, personable drivers and a finely honed booking application combined with affordable prices would result in the best service experience for customers.
When 1 July finally dawned, the surface of the new Mercedes was washed and waxed meticulously, the interior was cleaned from top to bottom, and the car was fitted with every accessory we could think of that would enhance the customer experience. Finally, the subtle yet easily recognisable company emblems in the shape of a heraldic shield were attached to the sides of the car. And when the dark of the night was at hand, a yellow roof sign was added as a cherry on top of the Mercedes, proudly declaring: Taxi.
The Taksiparoni trade name is owned by Taxi Eagle Pro Oy, subsidiary to the family-owned transportation company Jyrkilä Oy, which has been rolling in Kotka since 1946.
